Volunteering
We know that it's very difficult to believe that surgery is going to work for you, but we know it does, and hopefully, shortly you will too.
We are often asked by our patients... "how can we give something back?"
Now you can!
We have created a range of options to enable you to use your various skills to benefit others. It will enable future patients, or those considering weight loss surgery, to speak to someone who understands through personal experience.
There are three main ways in which you could help:
1. Want to be famous?
We get lots of enquiries from the media for inspirational case studies. It might be for a telephone interview, a photo in a local or national magazine / newspaper, or even to take part in a TV series. We appreciate not everyone wants to be on the One Show!, but if you would like to talk about, share your experiences and show off the New You, please click on the link below. We will then contact you and discuss precisely what you would like to do.
2. Forum
There is lots of information on the Internet, both good and bad, so we set up our own forum to be a place where information can be requested, shared and exchanged with others. We need help. We need moderators (mods), we need people to answer questions based on their own experiences, and we need people who would like to share their journey with others.
3. A blog
Its quite normal to worry about the operation itself, whether you will loose weight afterwards, and if you are eating the right food. Its all normal!! If you would like some help to keep a weekly video blog, not only will we give you the video camera as a thank you, but one of our clinical team will review your film and contact you to answer any concerns you have.
Are you up for that and willing to give a hand?
