Awards
Streamline Surgical’s Bariatric Service won the ‘Dignity in Care’ Category at the South-East Coast Best of Health Awards 2008.
This is awarded to an exceptional service providing understanding and compassion for morbidly obese patients at every stage of their treatment and care. Our team not only has the surgical expertise to carry out bariatric surgery (weight loss surgery) but understands and appreciates the high risks involved, as well as the fears, self esteem issues, physical limitations and emotional wellbeing of our patients.
We make sure that the environment is equipped to incorporate the needs of obese patients, from beds, chairs and wheelchairs to blood pressure cuffs and theatre gowns. Patients are never exposed to embarrassment and prejudice whilst at our hospitals, and are discharged feeling that they have been respected as an individual and treated with the dignity and professionalism every patient deserves.
“To win this is a great honour. We always strive to do our best for our patients and provide the best care and service we can and to be recognised in this is truly rewarding” Mr. Shaw Somers, Consultant Bariatric Surgeon
“Our patient care is something we have always strived to be the best at so this award really means a lot to all of us at Streamline Surgical” Mr. Guy Slater, Consultant Bariatric Surgeon
“My team and I are perfectionists and when we see that are patients are happy and comfortable we know we’re doing a good job” Practice Manager of Royal West Sussex Trust

It’s a lovely atmosphere with a great sense of unity, and nobody is judging you which is so refreshing after years of feeling that way” Mrs. T. McMeekin, gastric bypass patient
“Fantastic – you couldn’t wish for a better service!” Mrs. A. Tomey, gastric band patient
